The Dutch Sustainable Energy Association (De Nederlandse Vereniging Duurzame Energie or NVDE) is the organization of entrepreneurs in sustainable energy in the Netherlands. The association was established in 2015. The renewable energy activities at more than 1500 affiliated companies already represent a turnover of around € 17 billion and more than 60,000 employees. The organization is committed to an energy supply that is entirely based on renewable energy. The organization covers the entire chain in terms of members: sustainable energy producers, network operators, suppliers of electricity, heat and gas and companies that offer sustainable applications and services such as energy storage, electric transport and heat pumps.
The membership of the NVDE consists of companies and sector organizations in the sustainable energy sector. The members sit on the committees, elect the board and determine the course of the association. There are more than 1500 companies and cooperatives directly or indirectly members of the NVDE. The members manage hundreds of megawatts of sustainable production; from offshore wind energy to geothermal and solar fields. Together they provide the energy supply for millions of Dutch people and do research and consultancy work. Together with the DOEN Foundation, the NVDE encourages start-up companies to contribute their innovative ideas. They can become start-up members of the NVDE.
